Toilet sign using the digital cutter

Our bathrooms needed new signs (used to be painted porcelain with golden text). The doors still need to be painted, though, but first things first... I've used silver vinyl on top of black vinyl. This was sticked to glossy cardstock and I used Tack-it to stick it to the door.

To-from stamp - ready for Christmas

Created using InkScape for the curved text. Sent the jpg to and two weeks later I had y own rubber stamp. Cost about 200 NOK (35 USD) for the stamp, a pad, extra ink and shipping. Thats a good price for such a large stamp!

I've been playing around with Photoshop and made three pebble-alphas. The full resolution images can be downloaded by clicking the images.

The font used is called Impact. The pebbles are only transparent outside the circles.

The font is Ikoola Pota. The peblles are fully transparent.

Again the font is Ikoola Pota. The pebbles are black and white and can easily be converted to transparent.

Glass tags

I made these tags to better keep track on your glass during the party. A bit more fun with different figures than a name. You can download the .svg, .dxf or .studio files

Teabag dispenser

I've seen so many inspiring tea boxes and now I had to make one myself. And here is the result. I made it 6.5cm x 7.5cm to be able to take the largest teabags. Then I filled it with different teabags and After Eight and sent it to a good friend :) Just because.

Baptism invitation

Our newborn baby is to be baptized and here is the invitation. I've learned to use the Silhouette in combination with a printer and registration marks. This was really fun and I avoided to be irritated over my bad handwriting. For all the prints I've used some doves as watermark. These doves are part of the graphical profile from the Church of Norway.

Distress ink effect using Photoshop Elements

I've never used distress ink in real life myself so I'd appreciate comments on this tutorial to approve the technique. I was thinking that the internet was full of tutorials on the topic, but I found none that I liked and thought I would experiment and find my own technique. And here it goes:

I'm starting with a background and three well known shapes (the letters ABC) where I add a shadow.

Background from The Blues Backpack by Jamie Rousselle (weekly freebie at DSP).

Then I add some grunge to the letters using two transparent layers of dust and scratches found from the invers of the image I downloaded from here. I've just selected a part of the dust and scratch image and added it to the letters only (selected everything outside the letters and deleted this).

On the image above I've also added some brush effect using the Dry Media Brush - Pastel Medium Tip to add speckles.

Then I make a copy layer of the original letters and add a stroke and simplifies this layer and deletes the original letters so I'm left with the stroke only in this layer.

And I add a gaussian blur to the stroke layer.

Then I delete everything outside the letters from the blurred stroke layer.

And I'd like a bit more "manual" touch to the distress effect so I make another stroke layer (adds stroke to the original letters, simplify the layer and delete the letters to be left with the stroke only).
And I use the smudge tool with the Dry Media Brush - Pastel Medium Tip as for the speckles earlier on. I use this tool to smudge the stroke onto the letters working as if I had a spunge in my hand onto all the edges.

Finally I delete everything outside the letters to get rid of the stroke.

Lace from plain printer paper

I've had some fun creating laces to cut with my Silhouette. Here's my first results. I've been using plain white, light printerpaper. Really low cost fun.
